The Science and Spirit of the Chakra 3945 N. Springfield Avenue, Independence Park, Second Floor, Chicago Suggested donation: $11 Friday, March 26, 2010, at 7pm. Doors open at 6:45pm The program presents the chakra system from the perspectives of science, yoga, music, and dance with performance of excerpts from the Dance of the 7 Chakras, choreographed by Lin Shook and chakra chanting led by Blanche Blacke of The Chakra Shoppe - www.thechakrashoppe.com Francine Kelley, yoga instructor, www.francinekelley.com will participate. She was introduced to yoga as a pre-teen growing up on a farm in Jamaica. Her yoga practice was transformed by attending the teacher training at the Temple of Kriya Yoga in 2004, and she has studied with many teachers since then. In addition to her passion for yoga, Francine is also serves her clients and students through the avenues of body-centered psychotherapy, Reconnective Healing® and the Akashic Records. Her passion for the life-transforming effects of these healing systems is reflected in her classes and sessions which encourage mindful, playful and compassionate self-inquiry. A scientist will present the scientific viewpoint of the chakra system. The Art of the Chakra, Part 2 was held on Friday, January 15, 2010 The Art of the Chakra, Part 1 was performed on October 17, 2009 as the first in the series, culminating in a final performance at Hamlin Park Theatre at our Annual Concert.
